Earlier, he and Ni Xiqin, chairman of the board of directors of the fund, visited the living conservation and revitalization project in North Point. The project aimed at "the integration of the old and the new" with artworks displayed in many places, presenting the stories of old neighborhoods.
Ni Xiqin also pointed out that the community service team appointed by the fund has so far served more than 50,000 residents undergoing redevelopment. The fund has also organized 5 projects in the past 10 years to approve a total of 19 conservation and revitalization projects, covering Kowloon City, Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, etc. More than 10 old districts, 16 projects have been completed so far, with a total number of participants exceeding 700,000.
The chairman of the board of directors of the fund, Ni Xiqin, said that one of the main tasks of the fund is to appoint a community service team composed of professional social workers to provide support to landlords and tenants affected by the Urban Renewal Authority's redevelopment projects. There have been more than 40 service teams in the past 10 years. In the reconstruction project, a total of more than 50,000 affected residents will provide assistance. The service team will provide assistance whether it is due to procedures or emotional difficulties.
He also pointed out that the community renewal will also activate the old districts. The fund provides funding for multiple community co-creation projects to encourage local people to participate in the promotion of heritage conservation and district revitalization within the urban renewal area. The fund has so far organized 5 projects and approved them. A total of 19 conservation projects, with funding of more than 110 million yuan, covering more than 10 old districts, including Sai Ying Pun, Kowloon City, Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, Kwun Tong, North Point, etc., 16 projects have been completed, with a total number of participants exceeding 70 ten thousand.
Wong Wai Lun and Ni Xiqin visited the "Passing by North Point" project earlier. The project presents the story of North Point and the memories of the neighborhood with artworks, including the street fitness installation "Sugar Factory" with the history of North Point Sugar Water Road on the North Point waterfront, gathering rest and interacting with users The installation of "North Point Symphony" and the characteristic stone pillars depicting the unique scenery of the community in the North Point Ferry Terminal.
