The Twitter account of a Republican congressman in the United States was blocked today (Sunday) due to tweets that included misleading information about the corona virus. According to the company's statement, Marjorie Taylor Green's personal account has been permanently shut down due to repeated violations of the policy to combat misinformation about the virus.

Green, who has also previously spoken out against anti-Semitism, could continue to use her official account as a congresswoman. In a statement issued by Telegram, she wrote that Twitter's move was "non-American". She claims she was removed from the social network after tweeting information from a government database to which reports of side effects from vaccines are sent. The database includes unverified raw information.

"Twitter is an enemy of America and it can not face the truth," attacked Green, one of Georgia's representatives in the House of Representatives. "It's okay. I'll show America that we do not need them and that it is time to defeat our enemies."

Twitter has vigorously launched a special system that uses artificial intelligence to identify posts that contain problematic information to the point of causing damage.

Two to three detections by the system lead to a 12-hour suspension;

Four locations cause a week suspension and five or more can lead to a permanent account shutdown.

In July, her personal account was shut down for a week after she claimed the virus was "not dangerous to people who are not overweight and are not older than 65."

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, nearly a quarter of a million people under the age of 65 died from corona in the United States.

Green condemned her previous suspension as a "communist-style attack on free speech."

The Republican congresswoman is an ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, who himself was permanently removed from Twitter following the false information he circulated about the 2020 presidential election.
