Two men from Middle Franconia made a New Year's Eve excursion with consequences.

They were caught by the police in the Freising district - by accident.

- It was "Kommissar Zufall" who helped clear up several crimes on New Year's Day.

Early on Saturday morning, a patrol crew from the Freising traffic police station noticed a white pickup truck in the Eichfeld car park on the A9, which would have long been due for the general inspection.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In the subsequent complaint, the inmates, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old from the Central Franconian district of Roth, initially stated that they had driven from Roth to Munich the day before to celebrate New Year's Eve in the state capital.

“In the course of the conversation, they became increasingly entangled in contradictions, especially when it came to inquiries about the owner of the van used,” said the Freising traffic police.

Properly "fueled"

In the end they gave in and brought the truth to light: Both celebrated not in Munich, but in a bar in Roth, in which they "clearly approved the alcohol," as the police say.

As they walked home, they noticed the pickup truck, which was parked unlocked with the key in the roadside.

"Here they made the decision to take a short trip to Munich," said the police.

They took turns driving.

During the further investigation, the officers found that neither of the two has a driver's license.

In addition, the 20-year-old had “filled up” properly: a test showed a test.

"The short trip will have far-reaching, criminal consequences for both of them," announced the police.

“Among other things, they will have to answer for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving without a license.

The driving license authority will decide whether the two Middle Franconians will be able to take their practical driving test to obtain a driver's license at the beginning of February. ”
