North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un's special speech on the occasion of the new civil year was saturated with promises to work to improve the well-being of his subjects in light of the severe shortage of food and housing, but the headlines he provided again touched on the physical condition of Kim, who celebrated two weeks 10 years ago.
According to the photos provided by the establishment media in Pyongyang, Kim continues to shed pounds, and according to North Korean officials who spoke with the Daily Mail, it is part of his desire to set a personal example.
"He eats a little more for the country," one of them was quoted as saying.

In his annual speech on Friday at a Communist Party conference he acknowledged that the situation in the country was "difficult" and stressed that 2022 would focus on improving the isolated state's economy, and in fact ignored foreign relations in his speech.
"The important task for the coming year is to solve the food, clothing and housing crisis for the people," he was quoted as saying.
