A whole series of projects are in the starting blocks in Warngau in the new year.

Including cycling and the expansion of childcare as well as the new industrial park.

Warngau

- Although the pandemic continues: The feared strike concert at the municipalities has so far not taken place. Corona delayed a lot, but prevented nothing, says Warngauer Mayor Klaus Thurnhuber: "We didn't actually have any direct failures." "The tax losses are still to come - but with a time lag." Because the allocations for municipalities in the financial equalization are calculated based on the results three years ago - when Corona had not yet made an impact. “There will still be a clean kink,” estimates Thurnhuber. “It will be visible from 2023.” Therefore, as a municipality, saving without having to invest in investments makes no economic sense. “If we brake now, the risk of the dent turning into a hole increases,” emphasizes Thurnhuber.Accordingly, in Warngau in 2022 there will be spit on the hands again.

childcare

The community wants to expand its childcare facilities - at three “construction sites”.

The expansion of the Kita am Kapellenfeld, which was postponed in 2020 due to the building material supply bottlenecks, is in the starting blocks.

And the starting shot for the extension with an additional group and exercise room should actually be given in 2022, assures Thurnhuber.

In the immediate vicinity, the community is working together with the district office on plans for large day care, in which day-care mothers and fathers are supposed to look after children between the ages of one and ten years, i.e. from crèche to after-school age. For the day parents themselves with the advantage that they can use the rooms outside of their private sphere, for parents with the advantage that the care is also ensured if their own day care is suddenly canceled due to illness. "We are thus expanding our range of care services to include a familiar form," says Thurnhuber. The new day care is to be given a place in the now vacant old teacher's house by the gym, between elementary school and day care center on Kapellenfeld. “A location couldn't be better,” says Thurnhuber.Since there are not as detailed regulations to be observed for day care as for public care facilities, the construction effort should also be limited, the town hall chief hopes. "Maybe we can offer this as early as September."

In Wall, the kindergarten is to be expanded from a one-group to a two-group facility, while the forest kindergarten group will remain in place. The community would have an annex to the kindergarten in mind in order to further bundle childcare there from kindergarten to elementary school children. Setting the course for this expansion is, however, much more laborious than at Kapellenfeld, because the Waller Kindergarten is not only run by the church, the building itself and its area are also in the hands of the church.

The congregation has already had several discussions with representatives of the church, it is the ordinariate's turn: “The church must know how it wants to be positioned in the future,” says Thurnhuber.

Also structurally.

It depends on where and how the expansion of the kindergarten can be planned.

Time is of the essence, says the mayor: "People are waiting for it, we have to get going."

Infrastructure

Warngau will also be concerned with expanding a more attractive cycling infrastructure in 2022.

In spring or early summer, a new bicycle parking facility is to be built at the train station, for which the municipality has successfully applied for funding from the Bike + Ride offensive of the railway and the Federal Environment Ministry.

And the planning for a direct bike connection between Otterfing and Gmund should become concrete - to a large extent over the Warngau municipal area.

Two expensive bridges are also on the program: The planning for the new construction of the Mangfall Bridge near Thalmühl together with the neighboring community of Gmund and the Festenbach Bridge is continuing step by step.

Setting the course

The course will be set for some projects in the coming year.

So the planning for a new fire station has to be intensified, for which the military around Commander Johann Eder has been waiting for a long time.

Thurnhuber reports that the new working group with representatives from the local council, administration and fire brigade has had its first meeting.

The group has prioritized six potential location proposals, now it is time to meet with property owners.

“By summer we will know where we can or are allowed to do something,” estimates the town hall chief.

"We will present a solution as soon as possible, but there are still many question marks."

The municipality will continue to push ahead with the expansion of the Birkerfeld industrial park in Lochham in the new year.

The first public hearing is currently underway.

In February or March, the local council will probably deal with the results, followed by a second round of interpretation.

By the end of 2022, “Birkerfeld II” could be ready for construction to be developed.

“The first company buildings could then begin in 2023.” The municipality should have a decent selection of which companies should be able to take advantage of the 88,000 square meters of commercial space that can be sold, because the demand is huge, reports Thurnhuber: “We are currently twice oversubscribed.”

The turn of the year is an opportunity to look ahead.

What will be possible in 2022 despite the pandemic, what must be deleted?

We asked around in the town halls.
