Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Dozens of Palestinians participated today in a solidarity stand in the West Bank in support of the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, especially the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on hunger strike for 140 days.
According to the Palestinian Wafa Agency, the participants in the sit-down organized by the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority in front of the headquarters of the Red Cross in the city of Bethlehem raised the Palestinian flags and pictures of the prisoner Abu Hawash and banners calling on the free people of the world and the human rights and international institutions to intervene quickly to save his life.
The director of the Prisoner Club, Abdullah Zaghari, confirmed in a speech during the vigil that today may be the last cry of the call in light of the imminent death that the prisoner is going through.
In turn, the released prisoner Ghazanfar Abu Atwan pointed out that just as he defeated the Israeli jailer in his open hunger strike, which lasted 65 days, the prisoner Abu Hawash will win and his ordeal will not last and the darkness of the prison will be cleared no matter how long it takes.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
