Daraa-Sana
The percentage of the cultivated area of barley in Daraa governorate reached 100 percent, rainfed wheat 64.5 percent, and irrigated wheat 74.5 percent.
The Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Bassam Al-Hashish, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the area planted with irrigated wheat has reached 6900 hectares out of the planned area of 9257 hectares, with rainfed wheat 51,630 hectares out of 80 thousand hectares, and with barley 27 thousand hectares, which is the entire planned area for the current season.
He added that the directorate, in cooperation with the sub-committee of fuels, continues to provide farmers with the diesel needed for agricultural operations at the rate of two liters per acre to be planted with wheat or barley crops.
