Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized for an emergency - the Brazilian president may be remedying an already known problem.
São Paulo - Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro * was hospitalized on Monday morning for a medical emergency.
There is a strong suspicion of a renewed intestinal obstruction, reported local media.
Neither the press office of the right-wing president nor the treating hospital initially responded to inquiries.
According to matching media reports, the 66-year-old was brought by plane from Santa Catarina, where he had spent the year-end holidays, to the Vila Nova Star hospital in São Paulo after his arrival.
On recordings of the broadcaster TV Globo you could see Bolsonaro getting out of the presidential plane.
Brazil: Bolsonaro back in hospital - again suspected intestinal obstruction
Doctor Antônio Luiz Macedo, who had treated Bolsonaro on other occasions, told the UOL news portal that the president would undergo several tests, including computed tomography, to examine the possible intestinal obstruction.
Bolsonaro had already been treated for an intestinal obstruction in mid-July.
At that time he spent four days in the hospital.
Bolsonaro was attacked during the 2018 presidential campaign and stabbed in the stomach with a knife.
Because of the stab wound, he had to undergo at least four operations, which made him more susceptible to bowel disease.
