Dozens of
“terrorists”
were
“neutralized”
between December 28 and January 2 during various military operations in the north and north-west of Burkina Faso, the army staff announced on Monday.
On January 2, detachments of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS),
"supported by the air force, carried out offensive action which made it possible to dismantle a terrorist base in the town of Tiebata"
in the region. Cascades, said the staff during a weekly update on its anti-jihadist operations.

"ten terrorists"
were
"neutralized"
and
"weapons, rolling stock, means of communication, food, fuel, prohibited products, and various other materials were seized or destroyed"
, specifies the army which assures to have recorded no losses. On January 1,
"the units of the army and the national Gendarmerie of Gomboro thwarted the attack on their base by armed individuals", according to the general staff which affirms that "an updated assessment reports 30 terrorists killed ”
and
“ 13 wounded soldiers ”.
A previous official report communicated on Sunday reported 11 soldiers wounded and 29 terrorists killed during this attack.
On December 30, they are
"twenty terrorists"
who
"have been neutralized in the locality of Yattakou"
in the Sahel region,
"following an offensive action conducted by military units."
Moreover, according to the army, on December 28,
"a coordinated action"
between the Burkinabè army and the air forces of the French operation Barkhane, made it possible to intercept a column of terrorists in the area of Diguel, still in the Sahel region.
“About twenty terrorists have been neutralized. Weapons, rolling stock and means of communication were also destroyed, ”
according to the army.
Burkina Faso has been facing regular and deadly jihadist attacks since 2015, in particular in the northern and eastern regions, close to Mali and Niger, countries also confronted with operations by armed jihadist groups.
