Holzkirchen - Instead of Ulrike Küster and Karl Bär, Daniela Kiderlen and Martin Quaderer will in future sit for the Greens in the Holzkirchen market town council.

At the beginning of December, the Green market councilors Ulrike Küster (57) and Karl Bär (36) announced that they would resign from their mandates.

If Bär's move was foreseeable after his election to the Bundestag, Küster's announcement came as a surprise.

In the most recent meeting, Daniela Kiderlen (51) and Martin Quaderer (58) were sworn in as successors by Mayor Christoph Schmid.

Ulrike Küster joined the local council in 2009 as a successor and was most recently also a parliamentary group spokesperson.

As she said, the reasons for resigning from office were private: "In almost 13 years I was able to learn a lot and move a lot, so saying goodbye is really not easy for me." But she does not want to say goodbye to local politics entirely.

Like Bär, she remains a member of the district council and is active as a deputy of the district administrator.

Karl Bär moves to the Bundestag in Berlin

For Bär, who has been a member of the local council since 2014, this is important as a member of the Bundestag in order to have a regular exchange with local politicians and the mayors of the district.

The pharmacist Daniela Kiderlen is now sitting at the council table for Küster.

She is also a member of the board of directors of the Holzkirchen local group in the Bund Naturschutz, of the One World Association and of Together in the Oberland.

She also acts as a parents' adviser at the grammar school.

She outlined her goals as follows: “It is particularly important to me to bring our life into harmony with nature.

That also means making the local development ecologically and socially compatible. "

Martin Quaderer would like to work for the preservation of Holzkirchen's lovable character for future generations as well.

"This requires a well thought-out mobility concept, affordable housing and moderate development of the local economy," said the project manager, for whom cultural diversity and the promotion of associations and voluntary work play an important role.

Greens prepared for change

The town hall chief particularly regretted Küster's resignation: "We were all able to experience that you burned for your office for the benefit of Holzkirche." At the swearing-in ceremony, he wished her and Bear all the best for his work in Berlin.

He symbolically extended his hand to the newcomer at the council table for constructive and collegial cooperation.

As Greens parliamentary group spokesman Robert Wiechmann said, we have prepared well for the change: "In future, Anita Gritschneder and I will jointly represent the parliamentary group as co-chairmen." The two new members had already been included in their parliamentary group work as far as possible.
