U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was positive for Corona yesterday (Sunday) and is suffering from mild symptoms.
His office said he would hold his meetings virtually while in solitary confinement at his home for the next five days.
Austin's contagion comes after the Pentagon last week tightened restrictions at its headquarters for fear of illness at Omicron.
Austin, who is vaccinated with three doses the last of which he received in October, said in a statement that he last met US President Joe Biden on December 21, more than a week before he began to feel symptoms.
