Dozens of Palestinians were injured this evening as the Israeli occupation forces suppressed demonstrations in support of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on hunger strike for 140 days in the West Bank.
Wafa news agency reported that the occupation forces stormed the towns of Hawara, Beita and Al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Nablus, and Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and attacked the Palestinians participating in the demonstrations by firing bullets and poison gas canisters, injuring one of them and dozens of cases of suffocation.
The prisoner, Abu Hawash, suffers from a critical health condition and is in an intermittent coma, in light of warnings from the doctors that the worst could happen at any moment.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
