Holzkirchen - The topic of the Holzkirchen southern bypass is now attracting wider circles.

After statements by the Green Bundestag member Karl Bär, Mayor Christoph Schmid is now in touch.

Karl Bär, who was elected to the Bundestag for the first time as a list candidate for the Greens, recently spoke of a project that was ineffective in connection with the Holzkirchen southern bypass.

This and the announcement of the new government to put already resolved road construction measures to the test, prompted the CSU parliamentary group to send an inquiry to the market town and the Rosenheim road construction authority as the planning authority.

Mayor Christoph Schmid has promised answers and public information for Holzkirchen in spring 2022.

Then the results of the route newly examined by the road construction authority will also be announced.

Schmid, however, expressed incomprehension for the behavior of Bär, who until recently was still a member of the municipal council.

Southern bypass in the federal traffic route plan

As CSU parliamentary group spokesman Sebastian Franz stated in the request, the southern bypass is part of the current Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan (BVWP), which runs until 2030. It even gives this measure an urgent need. After the new federal government announced that it would subject the BVWP to a requirements plan review, the parliamentary group from the Rosenheim authority and the municipality would like to know how this is to be assessed from a technical point of view and what influence it will have on the public survey planned by the market.

The request was fueled by statements by Bär on Instagram, according to which the traffic light coalition will be looking for an infrastructure consensus on federal transport routes, which, as he said, involved expensive, controversial and ineffective projects such as the bypasses around Holzkirchen, Hartpenning and Kurzenberg this consensus should fall.

On request, Schmid stated that the CSU letter is expected to be answered publicly in spring 2022.

Until then, there is also to be a discussion with the parliamentary group chairmen and the road construction office on the results of the newly examined route.

Depending on the pandemic situation, public participation should then be continued as a face-to-face or online event.

Not to prevent excursion traffic

"The aim is, as agreed in the local council, to bring about a resolution for the implementation of a request for a council," said Schmid. “The quality of life of those who live on Tölzer, Tegernseer and Miesbacher Strasse is important to me. Since we cannot prevent excursion traffic, we can only relocate it. Ultimately, however, the citizens should decide. I hope that there will be a factual discussion so that we can finally put a hook behind this project, ”said Schmid, explaining his personal preference and expectations.

Analyzes as well as traffic load figures that do not differentiate between the type of motorization of the excursion traffic are, according to Schmid, on the table and have already been presented.

“Against this background and Karl Bär's knowledge that it was agreed in the local council to let the citizens decide, I am irritated, to put it mildly, with the statements he has now made,” said Mayor Schmid, adding: “If he is in favor of the According to the constituency, I would expect that he would then also think of all the citizens who live and live here. ”
