“
Today, we are not at all to the point of recognizing (the Taliban). We hope that the governing body of Afghanistan will orient itself, with its actions, towards a direction that will allow international recognition
, ”said the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saïd Khatibzadeh during a conference of hurry. "
Iran and the neighboring countries of Afghanistan insist in particular on the formation of an inclusive government which reflects the ethnic and demographic diversity of this country
", he added.
Shiite Iran, which shares a border of more than 900 kilometers with Afghanistan, has seemed to sketch in recent months a rapprochement with the Taliban, a Sunni Islamist group.
