"who lack the essentials"
according to the classic definition of dictionaries.
This is in any case the idea that Prime Minister Jean Castex has of it, presenting last October "the inflation allowance" of 100 euros, currently being distributed to its beneficiaries.
The intention is certainly generous which aims to compensate them for the soaring fuel prices.
Anyone over 16 (on condition, for minors, of working) and earning less than 2,000 euros net per month is eligible, i.e. 38 million and 70% of the population of the age groups concerned.
In total an invoice of 3.8 billion euros for the State.
