May need surgery: Brazilian president hospitalized Israel today

2022-01-03T13:43:20.420Z

Jair Bolsonaro suffers from intestinal obstruction and was rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pain • The president has been suffering from intestinal problems since he was stabbed by a political opponent during a rally during the election campaign

Jair Bolsonero was sent today (Monday) to Villa Nova Star Hospital in Sao Paulo after experiencing abdominal pain in the morning, and is now awaiting test results.

His personal doctor and whoever operated on him in the past confirmed that this was another blockage of the bowel.

"The president has undergone imaging and another series of tests designed to understand what causes the pain he feels. We do not yet know exactly but it may be for example food that is not chewed properly, among other things," stressed Antonio Luis Masado, one of the Brazilian president's personal doctors.

He further added that they did not rule out the possibility of surgery.

This morning's hospitalization occurred when Bolsonero spent a vacation in Santa Catarina in the south of the country.

In July last year, Bolsonero was hospitalized for four days as a result of the same medical problem and appears to be linked to the stabbing attack on the president during the 2018 presidential campaign, when an opponent of his candidacy and a member of the Socialist Party stabbed him in the stomach while visiting Minas Gerais.

In 2020, Bolsonaro contracted the corona virus and was treated at the presidential residence for nearly two weeks, suffering from symptoms of the disease.

Bolsonaro has previously expressed disdain for the severity of the plague and called the corona a "small flu".

As mentioned, health problems have accompanied Bolsonaro for several years and pose another challenge to him in the face of the impending political threat in the form of former president Inecio "Lola" de Silva (2010-2003) a Labor leader who tries to make a comeback after being acquitted about two years ago of corruption and money laundering. After 585 days of actual imprisonment.

In the elections to be held on October 2 this year, they have already announced their readiness to run for incumbent President Bolsonero, de Silva and also Sergio Morrow, Bolsonero's former justice minister and the judge who sent de Silva to prison.
