Minister of Education: Promote an outline that will prevent distance learning in red cities Israel today

2022-01-03T19:06:35.204Z

Minister Shasha Bitton wants to compare the isolation policy in schools to that in the community • The goal: to prevent students from learning to zoom in automatically in red and orange communities even if there is no illness in the classroom or in school

The outline of the green class in the yellow and green authorities was revoked yesterday, after the health order in his case expired on the night between Sunday and Monday.

As a result, it is no longer possible to maintain the green classroom outline in schools.

Against this background, Education Minister Yifat Shasha Bitton is working to promote a new isolation outline, similar to the one currently in place in the community, based on increased epidemiological investigations within schools.

This is despite the fact that according to professional sources, in the coming days there will be a shortage of tests that will not allow all sick students to be located - especially in the red and orange cities where the minister wants to continue studies as usual.

Today (Monday) the corona projector spoke about the green class outline and said that as long as the omicron strain continues to spread - the outline will not be returned.

Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton spoke on the subject yesterday and wrote on her Facebook page: "The order of the hour is to create certainty and relief for the students and the educational staff.

I am in constant contact with the Prime Minister when I also understood in favor of changing the outline which would prevent students from automatically learning to zoom in red and orange localities even if there is no morbidity in the classroom or school.

We are in discussions with the Ministry of Health. "

Shasha Bitton's entourage explained that the minister is interested in returning the outline of the green class and not just in green and yellow authorities.

According to this outline, which has meanwhile been abolished, students in yellow and green communities whose classroom has been verified are continuing their studies, when they have to perform daily antigen tests for a week.

When they finish the school day they go into isolation in their homes.

However, since at this stage the Ministry of Health opposes the return of the outline, the Minister of Education is trying to promote another outline, as stated in the community. The plan was submitted to the prime minister last Thursday and is now awaiting a decision by professionals at the Ministry of Health. Under the proposed outline, entire schools and strata where verified will not be completely closed, as is currently the case with the abolition of the green class outline and as in red and orange localities, but in a class or stratum where he is found infected with the virus In the community. That is, isolation for seven days and two negative tests for those who do not have a green mark, and an institutional antigen test for those who have a green mark that, if positive, is sent for PCR and isolation until the negative result is obtained.

Moreover, the Minister of Education wants the epidemiological inquiry system to conduct an in-depth investigation in the schools, in order to find out which of the students was actually in contact with Verified.

This is to prevent a sweeping dispatch for isolation and testing of all students who were allegedly in contact with the verified - for example a teacher in a particular class, or a student in a class.

Thus, she hopes, fewer children will be sent to solitary confinement and only those who have actually been in contact with the verified.

"Our children need a continuous study framework within the education system and mental stability after two years of uncertainty. We owe it to them and as a result we continue to demand with the continuation of the green class, at least in green and yellow localities. "It will make it easier for parents, students and teaching staff," said Shasha Bitton.
