Gravel mining is a big issue in many municipalities in the district.

The Geiger company is allowed to mine gravel for two years longer on an area north of Fürstenfeldbruck in the Malching district.

Fürstenfeldbruck - The Planning and Construction Committee (PBA) approved the application for an extension - but grudgingly.

The company must therefore carry out the backfilling by the end of 2023, the recultivation by the end of 2024.

Afforestation is planned there.

“We want the forest there,” said city architect Johannes Dachsel in the committee.

Nevertheless, the city has no way of refusing the extension, since gravel mining is a privileged project.

The building authorities view the extension of the dismantling permit critically.

Dachsel therefore suggested drawing up a development plan for the area should an application be made for an extension in two years' time.

This could then be prevented by a land-use plan.
