The "White Raven" has a new nest: where the Munich-Forstenried police station used to be, you can now buy cheap furniture, books, games, electrical appliances, clothes and much more.

Munich - Today, Monday, the opening of the used goods store will be celebrated in Drygalski-Allee 33e.

The "White Raven" is one of the largest integration and employment companies in Bavaria.

Here people get a job for whom it is otherwise difficult to find a job.

Around 45 employees work at the Obersendling * location, including people with a need for support who, for example, have been unemployed for a long time or are ill.

"It is important for people that they have a daily structure and pursue an activity," says Deputy Operations Manager Stephanie Hong-Fichtinger.

"It's also about social participation."

Munich: The “White Raven” is also about social participation

Olaf Paproth is happy about his job at the "White Raven".

“I enjoy being here at the company,” he says.

“The colleagues and bosses are fine, everything fits.” He has been working in the housekeeping department for around three years and makes sure that everything is sparkling clean when the department store opens.

Here we go: A second-hand department store belonging to the “Weißer Rabe” company opens at Drygalski-Allee 33e.

The previous location in Bavariastraße had to give up business because the lease had expired and the owners were planning a construction project on the property.

But the new location is a good substitute: It can be easily reached by public transport and there are parking spaces in the courtyard.

On an area of 800 square meters, spread over three floors, customers can get used household items at affordable prices.

For example, a suit with jacket and trousers costs ten euros, a winter coat twelve euros and a t-shirt three euros.

You have to pay 250 euros for the green sofa, 35 euros for the coffee table and three euros for a sofa cushion.

For books, the price is between 50 cents and twelve euros.

Munich: Many customers also value sustainability

"The demand for cheap second-hand goods in Munich * is high," reports Stephanie Hong-Fichtinger.

“People come to us with a low budget, for example families with low incomes, students, elderly people.” But many customers who value sustainability also like to shop at the “White Raven”.

Because if products that are no longer required and are still in very good condition are used, this saves valuable resources and protects the environment.

The goods come from donations or from household liquidations carried out by the “White Raven”.

During the renovation of the building, it was important for the facility to make everything barrier-free.

That's why there is an elevator and one of the changing rooms in the fashion department is extra large.

The used goods department store is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Keyword: "White Raven"

The “White Raven” offers people in need of support a professional perspective.

In addition to the second-hand store in Obersendling, there is another shop at Landsbergerstrasse 146 in Westend *.

Donations in kind are also accepted.

The company, which is sponsored by Caritas, also includes, among other things, a sewing workshop, gastronomic offers, a housekeeping service, a recycling company and a forest project in which the employees maintain green spaces, for example.
