The Syrian army is angry with Russia: "Allow Israeli attacks" | Israel today

2022-01-03T08:43:03.054Z

A senior Assad regime military official told a Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper that he was frustrated by Israel's ability to attack in the heart of Russia's presence in the country and Moscow's refusal to approve a response to the attacks.

The wave of attacks attributed to Israel in Syria is causing controversy and internal tensions between various elements in the country, which is still in a state of civil war, and the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar claimed today (Monday) that senior Syrian military officials expressed displeasure with Russia's conduct in the attacks.

A senior military official was interviewed by the Lebanese newspaper, which is affiliated with the Hezbollah terrorist organization, and told the newspaper that Muska ignored and even allowed the attacks to continue as long as its people were not harmed.

"The Israelis are hitting targets that are right inside the Russian presence area and they are not even responding to the missile interception," the military source protested to the newspaper.

In addition, the military source claimed: "Russia is furiously silent about the use made by the Israeli enemy in the presence of transport planes or Russian informants in Syrian skies to carry out the attacks, in a way that prevents Syrian air defense systems from responding to the attack."

The interview that appeared in a Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper is part of a propaganda and anti-propaganda campaign conducted by Iran and Saudi Arabia on public opinion in the Arab world.

While the Saudis seek to highlight the growing frustration with the Assad regime over Iran's conduct in Syria, Iran's supporters seek to address the blame for the situation on Russia.

The Saudi network Al-Arabiya reported on Thursday that Iran's growing presence in Syria has become a source of danger to the Assad regime, which has lost its influence.

Sources spoke of a serious move on the ground by Assad's army to restrict the activities of Iran and its envoys in the Syrian region and especially in the West Coast region.

As you may recall, recently Syria has reported two Israeli attacks on the port of Latakia.

Sources quoted by the Saudi network claimed that Iran had used civilian vessels to transport military equipment to ports in the coastal area to strengthen its activities in the Syrian region and Lebanon.
