Why does Bill Cosby continue to receive letters from prison? | Israel today

2022-01-03T13:24:35.276Z

His release from the actor's prison not only provokes a storm among his haters and critics who want to see him return there, but also longing in the hearts of his cellmates

Bill Cosby's release from prison has caused great outrage among many, who more than willing to watch him behind bars, serving a long prison sentence for many years of sexual assault.

But it turns out that not only his haters and critics wish for his return to prison, but also his cellmates.

According to Andrew Wyatt, Cosby's representative, friends of the former SCI Phoenix prison comedian contact him about three times a week.

This, as Wyatt claims to TMZ.com, because they miss it.

Wyatt says that during his stay in the detention facility, Cosby became the voice of reason among the inmates.

He resolved conflicts between them, gave life advice and implored his cellmates to acquire education, as a means of improving their lives.

At the same time, Wyatt argues, Cosby encouraged inmates to prove to their probation officers that they are capable of being decent citizens within the prison walls, and that they can meet this complex task even when released.

The representative further said that he is usually the one who receives the calls of the missing friends, but Cosby also tries to answer them as much as he can, talk to them and ask how they are from time to time.

In addition, Wyatt says that there is a demand on the part of the comedian's former friends in the cell to return him from time to time to visit the place, in order for him to want and deliver motivational speeches to them - something Cosby plans to do later.

But now, he says, the former stand-up comedian and current convicted felon is focusing on his legal battles.

This is in light of civil lawsuits filed against him, and attempts by Pennsylvania authorities to reverse the decision that led to his earlier release.

As a reminder, Cosby was released from prison last June, after the Pennsylvania High Court overturned the actor's conviction for a series of sexual offenses, and ordered his immediate release from prison.

This is after a determination that Cosby had previously reached an agreement with the prosecution that no charges would be filed against him, and the trial and conviction were filed in violation of the agreement.

The Supreme Court even rejected the court decision that convicted Cosby to allow the admission of five more complainants to the lawsuit.

The 84-year-old Cosby ran two of the ten years he was sentenced to.

He chose at the time to serve the sentence instead of expressing remorse for the acts he committed on complainant Andrea Constand.

The Supreme Court decision precludes any possibility of a retrial or re-filing of the charges.
