Hama, SANA- The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Hama has allocated 4 billion Syrian pounds to complete work on a draft line project.

The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Hama has allocated an amount of 4 billion pounds to complete work on the vital Hama water line project from the upper Orontes River to the city of Hama, with a length of about 82 km, as part of its plan for the current year.

And the Director-General of the Foundation, Dr. Mutee Abshi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the draft line extends from Al-Qusayr station in the western western countryside of Homs to the city of Hama, on which expenditures in its first phase amounted to 2.8 billion.

Lira last year, with a project execution rate of 97 percent, indicating that the importance of the project lies in the fact that the water flows automatically without the need to pump, which saves huge financial costs that are usually required by the pumping process, depending on energy sources, whether fuels or electricity.

Regarding the Foundation’s work plan for this year, Dr. Abshi explained that the Foundation intends to complete the work on the drinking water project in the Al-Jarifat area, east of the city of Masyaf, in order to radically end the problem of drinking water scarcity in the city, pointing out that the project includes 4 wells that have been dug and experiments have been conducted on them, and the results are promising from In terms of pumping quantity and specifications, in addition to implementing a ground tank with a capacity of 1000 cubic meters, 4 rooms, and pumping lines with a length of 5200 meters, as well as providing wells with mechanical and electrical equipment, and installing push pumps from the tank to the city of Masyaf. The project is expected to produce 200 cubic meters of water per hour.

Dr. Abashy indicated that these works come as a continuation of the projects that were accomplished during the previous period in the city of Masyaf, especially the implementation of a ground reservoir with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters on Masyaf Wadi El-Ayoun road and linking it to three wells with the replacement of networks and equipment, in addition to the implementation of a line exempt from rationing to feed 3 Wells east of the city.

With regard to the works carried out in the countryside of the Masyaf region, Dr. Abshi pointed out that the replacement of the drinking water network has been completed in each of Umrah-Daliba, Al-Rasafa, Ain Al-Shams and Al-Shmaisah, the total cost of which is estimated at about 3 billion pounds, and the implementation of lines exempted from the electrical rationing program in each of Qamhana And Mahrdah and Kfarbhum and Al-Barnawi neighborhood in the city of Hama.

With regard to the Al-Ghab area, Dr. Abshi indicated that work is underway to implement two tanks to feed the villages of Al-Abr, Al-Shajar, Al-Khandaq and Al-Hurra to improve the reality of drinking water in them. With regard to the works carried out in the northern countryside of the governorate liberated from terrorism, he explained that the rehabilitation of the two largest drinking water projects in Zour Abu Zaid and Nasiriyah has been completed. To supply drinking water to the Soran area and the city of Taiba Al-Imam, whose rehabilitation costs about 2 billion Syrian pounds, and to provide drinking water of good quality to about 100,000 people.
