The branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in As-Suwayda distributed chairs and movement supplies for persons with disabilities, during an event held today at its headquarters on the occasion of the coming of the New Year under the title “Love does not need two feet.”
In a statement to SANA reporter, Adnan Azzam, a member of the competent executive office in As-Suwayda Governorate, indicated that the distribution of motor supplies indicates the importance of social solidarity and attention to the segment of people with disabilities in society.
The Vice-President of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in Syria, Nour Al-Sibt, explained that the distribution initiative presented by civil activists from the village of Masada in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan confirms the depth of belonging to the homeland and communication with its children, indicating that it was launched from As-Suwayda Governorate to include a number of governorates during the coming days under the supervision of the association.
The head of the Administrative Committee of the Association’s branch in Suwayda, Nizar Shuja, pointed out that the distribution included different ages of people with physical disabilities and from different regions of the governorate and came based on the lists set so that the target was not covered by previous distributions during the last period or needed new supplies after the malfunction of his previously existing motor devices .
A number of distribution beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation to the association for this initiative, which reflects the extent of interest in them and follow-up on their affairs.
The branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped was established in Sweida in 1997 and works to provide a variety of free services to people with disabilities, knowing that the mother association is based in Damascus and has branches in addition to Sweida in Lattakia and Quneitra.
