, Giovanni Maria Vian has been teaching ancient Christian literature for three decades at the public university La Sapienza in Rome.

He has just published a work called

The Books of God.

Brief history of Christian texts

(Salvator), which offers a very accessible synthesis of current knowledge on these sacred texts of Christianity.

This begins with the oldest Jewish oral traditions, in the tenth century BC.

It continued until the 1st century AD, when Christians wrote the books of the New Testament.
