Weyarn - premiere in Weyarn: For the first time, Mayor Leonhard Wöhr held a citizens' meeting only online.

It was a first for Weyarn: Due to the Corona situation, it was decided not to hold the citizens' meeting in attendance.

It was done online for the first time.

The audience saw Mayor Leonhard Wöhr in the newly expanded attic of the town hall in front of the municipal coat of arms.

Managing director Christel Altenweger and participation coordinator Katja Klee also presented facts about the municipality, including the household figures and the new mission statement.

"I hope that there is something interesting for everyone," the mayor opened the information event.

  • Corona was of course an issue as well as the resulting lack of predictability and financial uncertainties.

"We got away with a black eye so far," the mayor was reasonably satisfied.

He saw problems in ever new political framework conditions without additional financial resources, increasing legal complaints from citizens against municipal guidelines, climate change and real estate price inflation.

  • The population of Weyarn has grown continuously - from 3,595 (2016) to 3,985 inhabitants (November 2021).

This is mainly due to the development of Klosteranger and Grafwiese, where a zenith has now been reached.

  • Wöhr described childcare as an ongoing task with a total investment of almost 1.5 million euros in 2021 - minus grants: 881,900 euros.

He is also proud of the flexible after-school care that Weyarn offers.

In contrast to all-day care, the same can also be booked for holidays.

  • Another plus point for citizens: the town hall service portal, on which many processes can be carried out online.

  • Wöhr was also satisfied with the "Am Weiglfeld" industrial park, which is now completely occupied.

  • Altenweger was able to report positive things about the budget for 2020: A minus of 433,239 euros was expected.

Instead, there was an increase of 959,990 euros due to well-run businesses and government grants.

  • For 2021 with total expenditures of around 8.84 million euros, a minus of around 1.54 million euros is targeted, because "we have and had some plans," said Altenweger.

Currently it is minus 210,000 euros, which is sure to change a lot.

  • There were major expenses for the Weyarner fire engine with 240,000 euros (remaining payment), fire protection and expansion of the town hall for 225,000 euros, the Unimog of the building yard (168,000 euros) and the warehouse (150,000 euros).

  • The expenses for digitization as part of the farm bonus (1.3 million euros) are still open because they have not yet been carried out.

  • The community's debts (810,000 euros) were continuously reduced to 5.9 percent debt financing.

Income of 1.2 million euros was carefully planned for this year's trade tax.

  • "It looks as if we have exceeded these projections by far," says the managing director.

However, there could be declines in income tax sharing.

Since the sector is one of the largest sources of income, it would hurt a bit in this area.

  • The Wattersdorf walkway (85,000) will have to be postponed to 2022.

Road maintenance and the school system remain long-running issues.

  • Due to the damage caused by the floods in 2021, an investigation will first be carried out and then a prioritization of measures.

During the flash flood, Wöhr thanked 250 firefighters on the job, many volunteers and donors: “It was impressive how people helped together.” 400,000 euros were awarded for initial measures during the flood.

There is no state subsidy for this.

However, this is granted for the flash flood investigation program in which Weyarn participates.

  • In 2022, the construction of cycle paths, further broadband expansion, the difficult creation of living space - possibly in Pienzenau - and motorway noise protection.

  • Club life was of course restricted by Corona, as Klee reported.

Sport in the multi-purpose hall was only possible to a limited extent.

Many events had to be canceled.

Depending on their focus, the working groups could be active or not very active.

“What is so nice is that people haven't been discouraged and have big plans for the next year,” said Klee.

  • In addition, a major undertaking was completed: After three years of cooperation between the municipal council and citizen groups, Weyarn has a new model, on which the future decisions of the municipality are based: “We are shaping our future together.

We preserve our environment and want to remain a rural area - respectful, cosmopolitan and diverse. "

  • Topics in the inquiries were the 5G location in Großpienzenau, flash flood management in this district and street renovations.

Interested parties can still access the citizens' meeting on the Internet via the municipality's homepage.

39 users took advantage of this during the live presentation.

Two days later it was over 200.
