Two trapped drones targeted a military base in Iraq on Tuesday (January 4th) housing troops of the international anti-jihadist coalition led by Washington, a coalition official told AFP, adding that the projectiles had been shot down without causing any casualties.

Two drones loaded with explosives were intercepted and destroyed (...) at the Al-Assad air base (western Iraq, editor's note) early this morning,
" said the official.
This is the second such attack in less than 48 hours, the day after the second anniversary of the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, killed by drone fire from the United States in Iraq in 2020.
