Revolution in sight in the world of hair coloring.
L'Oréal presented two new products at CES, one intended for the general public, Colorsonic and the other for hairdressing salons, Coloright.
It took no less than seven years, more than fifteen patents filed, to give birth to Colosonic, a device that looks like a hair straightener.
It is actually the first device intended for home coloring, "
the most important innovation in this field for fifty years
", estimates Guive Balooch, director of the Tech Incubator of L'Oréal.

Operation may be "
very complex, its use is very simple
", promises Guive Balooch.
No more mixes to make at home, on the corner of the sink, random application and stains in the bathroom.
L'Oréal's promise is to offer its customers - and potential customers - a device that simplifies all these operations.
The two cartridges, one for the dye, the other for the developer, slip into the Colorsonic.
The mixture is done automatically, and the coloring is applied like a brushstroke.
The only thing that doesn't change is the break time.
Simpler, and also, better for the planet.
“
We're cutting plastic by more than half, compared to what is usually included in a color box.
We have also eliminated disposable gloves, to replace them with a single, reusable one,
”adds Guive Balooch.
Colorsonic will be marketed in early 2023. L'Oréal is still refining the details.
"
It will be sold under the L'Oréal Paris brand, at an affordable price, corresponding to the customers who buy and do their
hair
coloring at home, and in the same distribution network
", specifies Guive Balooch.
The group must also settle the question of its manufacture, "en masse".
Coloright for professionals
For hairdressers, the offer is a little more complex.
The Coloright is a device for diagnosing the hair and especially to know the history of colors applied.
An artificial intelligence, via an application available on a tablet, then makes it possible to try out the colors offered in virtual reality.
“This allows you to find exactly the color you want, wherever you are in the world.
Or virtually trying out a new color before changing it, ”says Guive Balooch.
