Occupied Jerusalem - SANA
The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission confirmed that the occupation authorities are violating the rights of prisoners guaranteed by international conventions and covenants.
The commission indicated in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that the bulk of the violations practiced by the occupation authorities against the prisoners are deliberate medical negligence, demanding that human rights and humanitarian institutions assume their responsibilities towards sick prisoners who suffer from diseases, some of them chronic and dangerous, and not leave them prey to the occupation.
The commission indicated that among the sick prisoners were Adel Hijazi, 50, Othman Shaalan, 21, from Bethlehem, Hisham Awad, 20, from Nablus, and Abdul Karim Al-Rimawi, 45, from Ramallah.
In addition, the Commission reported that 50 prisoners in the occupation detention centers will start an open-ended hunger strike tonight in solidarity with the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who is on hunger strike for the 141st consecutive day in protest against the arbitrary practices of the occupation against the prisoners.
