Elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Hama today seized a tank for distributing heating oil, manipulating the meter and manually moving the numbers to steal fuel from the citizens’ allocations.
Riyad Zayoud, director of internal trade and consumer protection in the governorate, said in a statement to a reporter that the directorate's agents seized the aforementioned diesel distributor for committing a violation by creating a hole in the meter cover to manually move the numbers during filling and theft and trafficking of the material.
Zayoud explained that during the inspection of the quantities loaded in the tank, it was found that there was a shortage of half a liter in every 20 liters of diesel that was withdrawn in favor of the tanker owner, pointing out that the necessary measures were taken against the violator in accordance with Decree No. 8.
