The search for a day care center in Munich should become less complicated in the future.

The SPD / Volt and Green-Pink List request improvements for the daycare finder in an application.

Munich - The online portal Kita-Finder has existed since 2014. Parents should be able to book childcare places for their children on the platform.

The majority of the town hall now wants to optimize the program and, above all, to reform the criteria for the urgency of a square.

It is no longer just working hours that should play a role.

In the future, individual reasons should also be taken into account, such as particularly long journeys, siblings who also have to be brought to a daycare center, shift work, single parents or relatives who need to be cared for.

In addition, parents should also be able to specify a second and third priority when registering in the future.

A citizen-friendly language in communication with families should help to avoid misunderstandings in communication.

"We're making Munich even more family-friendly," says SPD city councilor Lena Odell.

A milestone was the introduction of the Kita Finder, which made it possible to allocate places online.

“We have improved the program year after year and will continue to do so.

Our goal is clear: More and more families should get the daycare place that best suits them. "
