Some corona rules apply to winter holidays in Bavarian ski areas.

Read here what these look like and what exceptions there are for children.

Between the years there was a lot of activity in the Bavarian ski areas.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, among other places, the parking spaces were already occupied early in the morning and long queues formed at the ticket counters, as the

BR

reports.

Day tourists also romped about in other ski areas such as Brauneck-Wegscheid, at Sudelfeld or in the Spitzingsee area.

This is probably also thanks to the relaxation of the corona measures regarding the ski lifts *.

A few weeks ago, operators feared that the winter season could fall completely into the water.

The Bavarian Council of Ministers abolished the 2G-plus rule in ski areas at the beginning of December. Since then, access to cable cars and other lifts has been allowed for vaccinated and convalescent people - an additional negative test is no longer necessary.

Children under 14 years of age do not need a 2G certificate; for young people up to 17 years of age, the same exception applies until January 12th if they present their student ID

. However, lift operators hope that the state government will extend this exemption. Gondola lifts that can accommodate more than ten people are only allowed to travel with a maximum load of 25 percent, while smaller cabins can be used up to 75 percent. There are no capacity restrictions in cable cars, for example drag lifts that remain in the open air.

Apart from this, an

in all cable car cabins, chair lifts and T-bar lifts, as well as in all indoor and outdoor

waiting areas

.

The medical mask is sufficient for children and adolescents between the ages of six and 16, while children under six are exempt from the mask requirement.

- here, too, only vaccinated and convalescent people have access.

An exception applies to children up to the age of 14 and to underage students.

For the latter, this only applies until January 12th.

An FFP2 mask is required for guests.
