It was planned for a long time, now some projects are about to be implemented.

We talked to the mayor about the challenges facing the city of Miesbach in the new year.

Miesbach - Not that much is tangible yet, almost everything is still in flux. But one thing is certain: with the development and restructuring of Müller am Baum, a mammoth task awaits the city of Miesbach. As Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller reports, there is an exchange with the investor. "The city's will to develop millers on the tree is there," assures the town hall chief. Much depends, however, on the outcome of the procedure for the expansion of the Thalham-Reisach-Gotzing water protection area, whose Zone III is to ultimately extend to the district in the Mangfall Valley. “It's our turn,” says Braunmiller. Talks have also already taken place with the water management office. The big questions: What is possible? Which framework conditions have to be observed? What is negotiable After all, it is about 200 residential units,to be developed. And the city needs to tap into all of that. “A huge task,” says Braunmiller.

The replacement of the district office also means over-planning of the Münchner- / Rosenheimer Straße area for the city.

Here you are in constant contact with the district.

The topics in Miesbach: children and water

Otherwise, 2022 can be overwritten for Miesbach with the title “Children and Water”. For the mayor, the completion of the construction of the expansion of the elementary and middle school in Miesbach is in the foreground: “We will probably finish this in the first quarter of 2022. It's relatively early on. ”And he also hopes that everything will go according to plan at the neighboring monastery, which is being converted into a children's home. After the start of construction has been delayed, it may not be possible to catch up. The end of the renovation is therefore only expected in the fourth quarter of 2022. Especially since, according to Braunmiller, the listed old building from the 19th century is never immune to structurally unpleasant surprises.

The general renovation of the primary school in Parsberg is no longer an issue. Instead of evacuating the school and temporarily relocating it to the elementary middle school in Miesbach, the building is now being upgraded in small steps - while the school is still in operation. "It's exhausting," says Braunmiller, "but it works." The expansion in Miesbach to accommodate the Parsberg students was not in vain: "The school needs the space because it also has more students." new rooms, and also the primary school is growing - not least with a view to the expected influx of new citizens due to the housing construction on Am Gschwendt and on Münchner Straße.

In the area of water, the focus is on the renovation of the warm outdoor pool, which, however, is still dependent on the approval of the 2022 budget.

But here the question mark is much smaller than in the case of the water protection zone.

The current petition, in which the city played a leading role, is expected to be decided by the state parliament's environmental committee at the end of January.

Braunmiller hopes that there will be movement in the matter, "because we are slowed down in our development".

Flood protection, Riviera and ALB

Right in the middle of the search process is the flood protection in Kleinthal.

There have already been several meetings here, most recently in December with residents, mainly to clarify the course of the Floigerbach.

The decision is to be made in January and presented to the working group in February / March.

Then it goes to the city council in March / April.

“There was a lot going on in 2021,” says Braunmiller.

Much of what was initiated in the old year will continue in 2022.

Not to forget the redesign of the Riviera, which is planned for April to July, the construction of the student research center in the old hospital, for which the city has to apply for a change of use, and the monitoring of the Asian longhorn beetle (ALB), which will run until the end of 2024 .

And when it comes to urban development, there should be more meetings of the responsible committee again in 2022.

The next one is planned for the beginning of June.

"But we have to be careful," says Braunmiller, "that we observe the demarcation from the building committee."

The turn of the year

is an opportunity to look ahead.

What will be possible in 2022 despite the ongoing pandemic, what has to be canceled for financial and corona-related reasons?
