The Royal Palace of Sweden announced today that King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have been infected with the Corona virus.
Reuters quoted a statement issued by the royal palace that "the king and queen, who received a full vaccination from three doses, showed slight symptoms and are in good health under these conditions."
The palace stated that the 75-year-old king and 78-year-old queen are subject to self-isolation and that work is underway to trace their contacts.
The Swedish Ministry of Health data showed a record number of 11,507 cases of infection recorded on the 30th of last December, at a time when the country's health sector is under renewed pressure due to a fourth wave of HIV infections.
