The activities of the “First Disability Forum” in Tartous Governorate, which is organized by the Disability Sub-Council, began today.

The forum includes scientific lectures on disability issues within the “cultural center” and workshops for students of the College of Education in the maternity hospital hall.

The Governor of Tartous, Lawyer Safwan Abu Saada, pointed out in a speech to him the need to benefit from the forum's axes and the information it provides to serve the way of providing full and correct support to people with disabilities and ways to integrate them into society.

Madian Tufaha, Secretary-General of the Sub-Council on Disability in the governorate, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the conference is the first of its kind and can be considered a nucleus for holding a scientific conference on a larger scale in the future, noting that the lectures on the axes of disability are “autism spectrum disorders, hearing, movement, visual, speech and behavioral disorders,” in addition to the axis Family counseling is provided by doctors and specialists in this field, while the second day includes workshops on early intervention, special education and psychological counseling.
