Today, the Russian Coordination Center at the Hmeimim base provided medicines, treatment equipment and gifts for children in the General Pediatrics and Children's Cancer Departments at Tishreen University Hospital in Lattakia.

The center's representative, Colonel Vladimir Mazarov, said in a statement to SANA reporter, "The Russian army today provided more than two and a half tons of medical equipment, medicines and gifts to the children in the General Pediatric and Pediatric Cancer Departments to put a smile on their faces, as they are the weakest group in society."

Pointing out that today's event took place in cooperation between the center and the Russian "Dar" association, "in an attempt to raise the morale of children, which contributes to accelerating their treatment and recovery," and he thanked the doctors who are doing their duty despite the siege and sanctions imposed on Syria.

In turn, the head of the Pediatric Department at Tishreen University Hospital, Dr. Uday Johnny, stated that the aid includes, in addition to the games, medicines, antibiotics, anticonvulsants, oncology drugs and sterilizers, which contribute to supporting this department, which was directly affected, like others, by unjust economic sanctions that affected the quality of treatment and disease warning.

Dr. Hala Saeed, who lives in the pediatric oncology department in the hospital, said, “The help we received from Russian friends is related to the requirements of children in the oncology department and medicines that help provide treatment and reduce the burden of high costs for some types, in addition to a set of games that contribute on the psychological level and bring joy to their hearts. “.

Dr. Ahed Al-Ali from the Pediatric Oncology Department stressed the importance of psychotherapy and that it contributes 80 percent to the treatment, thanking Russian friends for their initiative.

The two children, Ahmed Bodour, 11, and Hassan Tatbi, 10, expressed their joy at the gifts presented and their gratitude to friendly Russia.
