The Iraqi Security Media Cell announced the downing of two drones that were targeting Ain Al-Assad Air Base in Anbar Governorate, west of the country.

A statement by the cell, carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Ain al-Assad Air Base in Anbar Governorate was targeted by two drones that were shot down outside the base's vicinity without causing any losses."

And the Ain Al-Assad air base, where the US occupation forces are present, has been hit by several attacks during the past months.

In addition, the Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization launched today a security operation to search the two banks of the Diyala River.

A statement informing the crowd stated that "brigades of the Popular Mobilization, with the support of the army, launched a wide security operation to search the banks of the Diyala River and secure them from the remnants of ISIS terrorists."

Iraqi forces continue to pursue terrorist remnants in several areas of the country.
