Former Stake Vice Chairman Zou Xingtong, involved in propaganda and appealing to participate in the June 4th rally this year, was accused of inciting others to knowingly and illegally participate in an unauthorized assembly. The case was decided today (4th) in the West Kowloon Magistracy. Adjudicator Chen Huimin pointed out that the rally Freedom is not absolute, and you cannot do whatever you want under this name. The court will never allow these freedoms to be exercised in violation of the law.

The defendant published two articles on the Internet before the incident, showing that she encouraged, persuaded, suggested, and pressured others to participate in the unapproved assembly, and finally ruled that Zou was guilty. The court is now listening to Zou's plea.


The defendant Zou Xingtong (36 years old) was suspected of inciting others to knowingly and illegally participate in an unauthorized assembly between May 29 and June 4, 2021.

Zou was accused of publishing articles on social media and Zhang Zhang that incited others to participate in June 4th activities during the charge period.

Zou explained in her own defense that as the vice chairman of the stake, she has the responsibility to promote the "June 4th Evening Party." However, it is impossible for the stake to hold a gathering at the risk of being prosecuted. Therefore, she has to announce that she will no longer hold a meeting. The "June 4 Evening Party" was held and expressed its regret and apologies to the people of Hong Kong for this. Therefore, the post of "Candlelight is not guilty and stand on our ground" was posted on Facebook and Twitter, calling on the public to use personal actions to continue and even spread the original Candlelight in the garden.

Zou also said that the reason why she published an article in Ming Pao "Candlelight bears the weight of conscience and Hong Kong people insist on telling the truth" is because: "It's so hard to talk about it. It will be too difficult to talk about it in the future." She also said, Ruo. These two articles alone can incitement to others, "It is to exalt me, but also to look down on Hong Kong people."
