At about 3 pm today (5th), a traffic accident occurred at 108 Chung On Street, Tsuen Wan.
The police received a report from a passer-by that a 68-year-old woman surnamed Zhang was knocked down by a van. The ambulanceman arrived at the scene and found the woman suffered head injuries and was unconscious. So she was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for emergency treatment .
It is reported that at the time of the incident, the woman suspected that when crossing Zhong'an Street from the car confinement, a black van drove until it was too late to stop and hit her. The woman fell to the ground and fell into a coma.
It was seen at the scene that the left front of the vehicle involved in the accident hit a dent.
After preliminary investigation, the traffic police arrested the driver on the spot, suspected of causing serious bodily injury to others due to dangerous driving.
Police said a van was driving along Chung On Street towards Yeung Uk Road. When it reached the address, it was suspected of hitting a woman passing by. The arrested man passed an alcohol test and is now being detained for investigation.
