A man in his twenties was shot dead on Wednesday in the street in Pointe-à-Pitre, AFP learned from corroborating sources confirming information from Radio Caraibes International.
An investigation for intentional homicide has been opened and entrusted to the Zonal Directorate of the Judicial Police (DZPJ), told AFP Patrick Desjardins, prosecutor of Pointe-à-Pitre.

"The facts occurred between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm, towards Vatable Street"
, according to the prosecutor.
The victim was born in 2000 and his body presented several bullet holes, according to the same source.
According to firefighters, the young man
"aged about 25"
had a
"gunshot injury".
Identified, it is not yet known whether the victim was known to the police.
In addition, an investigation was opened, also entrusted to the DZPJ, following a robbery in a jewelry store in Pointe-à-Pitre, boulevard de Chanzy, a little earlier in the morning.
