A Syrian student wins bronze in the International Mathematics Challenge competition

Young woman Asmaa Al-Omar aspires to raise the name of Syria in international scientific forums after winning the third bronze place during her participation in the World Mathematics Challenge for Youth that took place in Germany with the participation of 5500 young students representing 122 countries in the world.

Asmaa, who studies at Al-Basel Secondary School for Outstanding Students in Homs, told SANA reporter that her passion and love for mathematics was born to her since her childhood, and she finds great pleasure in solving complex problems. Her participation in the mentioned competition during the past two months came through three stages. The competition held via an online website included problems and issues She pointed out that the final stage of the competition included twenty questions and a duration of twenty minutes, and it ranked 13 out of twenty contestants and ranked 15 out of 100 participants from different countries of the world.

The young woman, Asmaa, indicated her family’s support for her from the beginning and the encouragement of the educational family, starting with the Ministry of Education, in creating an atmosphere that promotes constructive competition to reach the highest ranks. The first was last, which was set up by the National Center for the Distinguished and represented her school, noting that she was honored by the Ministry

And the Directorate of Education in the governorate gave her a lot of enthusiasm and perseverance to achieve more scientific achievements.
