Master Gims by making this speech which targets the wishes of a happy new year, the fact of celebrating Christmas or birthdays clearly tells Muslims that respecting their religion means refusing the festivals and traditions of the country where they live. It is an invitation to separatism to which he gives himself up exactly in the tradition of the Tabligh movement that he nevertheless prides himself on having left. What the rapper says is that to accept certain festivals and certain symbols is impure for a Muslim, it is to betray his religion, to withdraw from the umma, the community of believers. The call to order is real and very violent. Symbolically, the message of rupture is very strong.
Indeed, the holidays and collective rituals of this type promote the feeling of belonging to a group, to a Nation. They punctuate the times of life and are part of a long-term process where our fleeting existences find a form of permanence. These festivals say that we exist in a world that has come before us and will survive us. The rituals and celebrations which punctuate our existence are also those which punctuated the life of our parents, of their parents before them… When we register in a country and integrate ourselves into it, we adopt this type of customs . To refuse them and to make of them a border distinguishing the Muslims from the others is a way of refusing to belong to a social body, to secede, it is to distinguish the “Them” from the Kouffars, from the impure ones, from a Muslim “Us” .However, one cannot form a society if one considers the traditions of the country where one lives as impure, contrary to respect for a religion. Are citizenship and faith necessarily mutually exclusive?
Citizenship and faith are not mutually exclusive, but France recognizes only one community, the national community. We are citizens as individuals, not as representatives of a religious community, of a particular group. No one has ever asked the French of the Jewish faith to renounce their faith, much less to deny their history, simply to speak only in their own name and not as a representative of a community or group of influence constituted requiring particular laws or different rights.

Citizenship clearly says that an individual does not have to rely on his belief to exempt himself from the common rule. Citizenship constitutes a virtual common world created by dialogue between individual consciousnesses. From the confrontation of reason and emotions, laws are born in accordance with a vision of the general interest which constitute a shared political culture. These laws are based on values, principles and representations, which are not exempt from cultural, philosophical, religious or historical references, but they are not limited to the currents which cross them, they draw their legitimacy not from a reference in the divine but in confidence in the creative capacity of men.These generate their own laws and do not draw them from a revealed or unveiled truth. These are free and autonomous individuals who carry this fruitful dialogue. There is no room in this process for a confrontation between licensed representatives of cults. There should be no force built up around religious affiliation, which, depending on the balance of power between the different religions, would impose one religious model rather than another. Individuals are then reduced to being the little soldiers of a collective identity besieged by the existence of competing models, also claiming a divine legitimacy. The citizen would no longer belong to himself, would no longer be an autonomous “I” in his thought, but one of the elements of the religious “us”, a simple standard bearer.However, this does not prohibit faith, as a spiritual quest and individual process, but it is above all the domain of the private, the particular, even if it retains a cultural influence.

The multiplicity of religions and beliefs, all referring to an absolute truth transcending any other form of organization can only lead to civil confrontation, hence the need to distinguish the theological domain from the political domain, to separate the question of the "salvation of souls", of the structuring of common life.
This is what defines the secularization movement.
There is no denial of faith as a personal quest, but it remains a private matter and in the event of a conflict between his convictions and the law, the individual must fall back on his convictions.

This outcry is in any case a good omen and shows that the French are not fooled by what is behind this type of attack.
What is also comforting is that many French people of Muslim faith found this call to order totally out of place and unseemly.
They did not appreciate the instrumentalization of their belief to call for community withdrawal.
On the other hand, if the rapper allowed himself such an outing, it is also because he knows he can meet echoes in a part of his audience, this youth worked hard by Islamism and whose surveys show us that it has an increasingly political relationship to his religion.
