Experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Disease Control (CDC) last night (Wednesday through Thursday) approved an impulse dose of Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 to 15.
"The corona is taking over our children's hospitals and hospitals," the panel said. R. Catherine Pohling.
13 of the 14 members of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Procedures voted in favor of giving a booster dose to teens in this age group, at least five months after the second dose.
During the discussion in which the booster was approved, data from the Israeli Ministry of Health were presented, according to which 12- to 15-year-olds who were vaccinated five to six months ago in the second dose contracted the omicron variant at a rate similar to that of unvaccinated children.

As recall, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Monday approved the booster for ages 12 to 15. However, CDC Director Rochelle Velensky must finally approve the move before it can be vaccinated.
The decision to vaccinate teens in the U.S. in a third dose comes amid alarming morbidity figures, with the total positive number in the country rising more than 500,000 in the past day. According to local media, the omicron strain itself is responsible for 95% of infections.
