Corona situation: Incidence just under 500 and over 2000 deaths

The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Hamburg has risen further - to just under 500. The health authority stated the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week on Wednesday at 499.4 (as of 11:57 a.m.).
On Tuesday the value was 463.3, a week ago it was 333.3.
At the same time, the number of people who have died in Hamburg from or in connection with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic exceeded the 2000 mark.
Hamburg - The Robert Koch Institute named corona deaths for Hamburg in 2004, 7 more than on Tuesday.
With the seven-day incidence, Hamburg is still well above the national average: According to the RKI, it rose across Germany on Tuesday from 239.9 the previous day to 258.6.
However, the institute pointed out that due to less test and reporting activity during the holidays, the figures could still be incomplete.
According to the health authorities, confirmed new infections were added on Wednesday in Hamburg 1965 - 497 more than the day before and 686 more than the Wednesday a week ago.
In total, at least 147,775 people have been infected in the Hanseatic city since February 2020;
According to RKI estimates, 123,500 of these are considered recovered.
According to the register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 69 Covid-19 patients were treated in the intensive care units of the Hamburg hospitals on Wednesday noon (as of 11.55 a.m.), one more than the day before;
35 intensive care patients therefore had to be ventilated invasively.
The health authority gave the total number of Covid 19 patients in the hospitals of the Hanseatic city (as of Tuesday) with 293;
67 of them were in intensive care units - that is 22 and 4 more than reported the day before.

No current figures were available on Wednesday for the incidence of hospitalization. On Tuesday, the RKI stated the number of corona patients admitted to hospitals per 100,000 inhabitants and week for Hamburg as 3.24; nationwide it was therefore 3.12. If the limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded, the federal states can impose stricter measures to combat the pandemic.
According to the RKI, 79.5 percent of Hamburgers have now been vaccinated at least once;
Accordingly, 77.1 percent have full basic protection with the second injection, which is usually necessary.
So far, 34.4 percent of Hanseatic city residents have received a booster vaccination.
When it comes to first and second vaccinations, Hamburg is still in third place behind Bremen and Saarland, but only third to last, ahead of Brandenburg and Saxony, when it comes to booster vaccinations.
