The plans for the planned 155-meter colossi at the parcel post hall have reignited the high-rise dispute in Munich.

Munich - Munich and its skyscrapers: This topic is just as important for the city as it is emotionally charged.

And not just since the

referendum of 2004

, when the residents decided: No building in the center may be built higher than the towers of the Frauenkirche with their 100 meters.

Accordingly, the plans of the Büschl Group for two 155-meter towers at the parcel post hall sparked discussion.

The Munich Forum uses an exhibition on the subject to focus on the southwest.

The supporting program is intended to stimulate discussions: Do the citizens want their neighborhood to change significantly?

“Several projects are planned here,” says Andreas Dorsch, head of the “City: Shape and Life” working group.

The buildings are not that high.

But: in their bulk, they would change the cityscape significantly.

“People should have an opinion on whether they agree,” says Dorsch, referring to the exhibition

“Nice prospects - do we want that?

".

The show and the supporting program are intended to provide information and discussion.

"It is important that the topic comes out in public," says Hans Bauer.

The SPD veteran, who has been involved in District Committee 19

for 27 years

, is back.

He is one of the main organizers and wants to promote exchange.

For example about the plans on Machtlfinger Straße around the south campus: three 80 meter high towers are planned there.

The Siemens high-rise is similarly high at 75 meters.

The colossus has been empty for 15 years and is to be revived.

Munich: Planned building with a height of 80 meters

The city

planning commission has not only dealt with this topic in the recent past

: Hans Bauer calls to mind the project plans that exist for Neurieder Straße: A building complex is planned there - including a residential tower that will have 17 floors and will therefore also be higher than 50 meters will be. There could also be significant changes in the cityscape on the banks of the Isar in Thalkirchen: Two apartment towers with apartments for hospital staff as well as extensions of the two clinics there are to be built where there was previously a lonely high-rise on the river.

“That has to be talked about,” says Bauer.

And immediately speaks to his co-organizer Andreas Dorsch from the heart.

Neither of them are fundamental opponents of high-rise buildings.

But they want to shed light on what individual high points mean for the immediate surroundings and the respective district.
