Israel is doing good-heartedly against Iranian nuclear power.
After having led a virulent campaign against the
"trap"
which would constitute a new agreement between the great powers currently under discussion in Vienna and multiplying the threats of war against Tehran, the Israeli leaders seem to be resigned to an arrangement even imperfect.
In other words, an agreement that would replace the one Donald Trump denounced in 2018 is no longer taboo.
Sign of this change: the chief of military intelligence, General Aharon Haliva, estimated at a meeting of the security cabinet that Israel would be
"rather better placed"
in the event of an agreement in Vienna than in a scenario where the negotiations in progress would result in total failure.
According to him, the Iranians would no longer play the stopwatch.
They would be ready to show a certain flexibility in order to reach a compromise which seems inevitable.
