The city is a shareholder in several companies.

In addition to the municipal utilities and wind energy plants, this also includes the Industha, the adult education center and the Kunsthaus.

Public utilities want to invest a lot

Fürstenfeldbruck - The city council found out how the companies fared in the 2020 financial year at the annual presentation of the participation reports.

2020 was a good year for municipal utilities. The surplus was just under 2.4 million euros and the equity ratio rose. But that will change in the next few years, said finance officer Klaus Wollenberg (FDP) to the daily newspaper. In the most recent main committee, he had already asked for additional information on the extent to which the municipal utilities can cope with the investments listed in the business plan, and whether there is also capital available - for an ice rink, for example. Wollenberg interprets the result, which has now been handed out as a table template: With the new construction of the indoor swimming pool and the planned investments in photovoltaics, the earnings development in the next few years is estimated at plus minus zero, according to Wollenberg. A slight plus is expected again from 2024. No rosy prospects for an ice rink.

Wind power is worthwhile in the district

The wind turbines also generate surpluses.

The plant near Mammendorf, in which the city has a direct 30 percent stake and a further 40 percent indirectly through the municipal utilities, fed 6172 megawatt hours into the power grid last year and thus achieved an annual surplus of 157,000 euros.

The Malchinger wind turbine (share of the city: ten percent, municipal utilities: 80 percent) generated 5718 megawatt hours.

That meant a surplus of 131,000 euros.

A plus is also expected for 2021.

Industha continues to market land

The real estate company Industha markets commercial space in the Hasenheide.

In the commercial area Kugelfang West all free space was sold in 2019 - the last payment was made in March 2020. A plot of land was sold at Kugelfang Nord, here the Industha is still active.

Adult education center is fighting with Corona

The financial year of the Adult Education Center (VHS) is based on the school year and therefore ended on August 31 in 2020.

In the previous twelve months there was a deficit of 118,000 euros.

Due to the temporary corona lockdown, the course income fell by 104,000 euros.

The loss could only be partially offset by grants.

Kunsthaus invests in equipment

The Kunsthaus was also unable to hold all of the planned exhibitions due to the pandemic.

To this end, investments were made in equipping the house on the monastery site in order to improve the quality of the exhibition.

Despite Corona, the management speaks of a satisfactory development.

A small surplus was generated.

Housing association starts up

A new addition to the group of companies with municipal participation is the housing association in the district.

In addition to Fürstenfeldbruck, other municipalities are involved in this.

The company has since started its work under the managing director Christoph Maier, the first plots of land are brought in.

The aim of the company is to create affordable and publicly subsidized living space in the district.

Existing apartments are also to be managed.
