The National Security Department of the police arrested a number of current or former senior officials of "Stance News" last week, including former director Wu Aiyi.
The police officers also searched Wu's residence according to the court warrant and seized a batch of materials.
Wu, who was granted bail at the police station, applied to the High Court yesterday (4th) to request the police to return the seized materials, protected by legal professional confidentiality, and materials outside the scope of the warrant.
Wu also asked the court to issue an order prohibiting the police from inspecting and accessing these two types of information.
The plaintiff is Wu Aiyi and the defendant is the Chief of Police.
The application stated that on December 29 last year, the police searched Wu's residence on Robinson Road on Hong Kong Island based on a court warrant and seized a batch of materials.
Wu asked the court to give relevant instructions on whether the seized materials are protected by legal professional confidentiality or whether they are outside the scope of the warrant.
Wu also requested the court to issue an injunction to prohibit the police from inspecting and accessing the two types of information, and return it to Wu.
