Last month, it was discovered that part of the military camp dormitory in Queens Mountain was suspected to be occupied. A field was discovered outside the dormitory. While some people were planting vegetables, many traces of life were found, and clothes were hung outside the building.

When the district councillor Luo Tingde heard the news, he visited the site and after inquiring with the Lands Department, he learned that the site had not been rented out.

According to what he saw at the scene, he suspected that the site was occupied by construction workers, and the surrounding area was poor in sanitation, like a "garbage pile".

Luo Tingde pointed out that if someone wants to rent a dormitory, they should apply to the Lands Department according to the due process. The authorities also need to keep the place clean and help preserve the only remaining military barracks building.

The Facebook page, Kongchengji, stated that the earliest discovery that the above site was occupied was at the end of 2019.

At that time, there was a construction site near the site, and some people were drying clothes and playing mahjong outside the barracks dormitory. The open space was even used to grow vegetables, and the nearby back hills were full of rubbish.

The moderator believed that there were already people living in the barracks dormitory at that time. According to the clothing of the people at the scene, he suspected that the occupier was a construction worker.

The moderator mentioned that some nearby military barracks were used as site offices. They also contained computers, refrigerators, beds, and other facilities. However, with the occupation of Queensland Village, these site offices are no longer used, but the dormitories have been used. People occupy.

The moderator said that the door of the site was locked when he passed by during the day. At night, he saw that the place was brightly lit, but no one was seen on Saturdays and Sundays.

Except for the occupied dormitories, the hillside behind has become a "garbage post."

When District Councillor Luo Tingde learned of the relevant situation, he visited the scene.

He pointed out that the place involved was opposite Shanliyuan, the former barracks dormitory at the end of Longma Road roundabout in Queens Mountain.

It is reported that the military camp dormitory on the site is (GIC) "Government, Institution or Community" land. It was planned to be used as the site of the university’s new campus. The location is also close to the second phase of public housing at Queen’s Hill.

At present, some military camps in Queen's Hill have been demolished from public housing or reactivated to the Housing Department for use as the Shan Lai Court office.

Luo Tingde pointed out that the location of the site is relatively hidden, but a lot of clothing can be seen hanging outside the building from a distance. The Lands Department replied that the place was not rented out, and that it had been sent to inspect and found nothing in particular.

Luo Tingde thought it was just a construction worker taking a break in the building in the hot weather. However, when he visited again yesterday (4th), he found that many people were walking into the military camp dormitory involved and followed them.

Later, Luo Tingde discovered that people were growing vegetables outside the building, and there were also traces of life nearby.

The military camp involved three dormitories, which can accommodate more than a hundred people. Judging by the clothing present on the scene, he suspects that construction workers are occupying the space.

In addition, the environmental sanitation situation around the site is poor, and Luo Tingde described it as a "garbage pile mountain."

He said that if someone wants to rent a dormitory, he should apply to the Lands Department in due process. He believes that although the site is not a historical building that has been rated, it is also a historical relic. He urges the authorities to have the responsibility to keep the place clean. He has now notified the Lands Department. Sign up for follow-up.

"Hong Kong 01" is now inquiring about the incident with the Lands Office.
