Russia's Roscosmos announced that it has designed a space power plant project that can send solar energy from space to the rugged hinterland of Earth or to other spacecraft.
The corporation said in a statement carried by Russia Today, “The Russian Space Systems Company of our corporation has completed work on the project of a promising space solar power station that can guarantee the regular supply of electricity to remote areas such as islands, mountains and far northern regions of the Earth regardless of weather conditions and over the course of The watch… It can also send energy to other spacecraft, especially in emergency situations.”
According to the statement, this energy complex will include space and ground facilities, and there will be a transmitter unit in space, which is an unmanned spacecraft with an area of 70 square meters, to collect the sun's energy and send it to Earth, while a receiving unit will be deployed on the surface of the Earth consisting of a system of mobile ground antennas that receive solar energy from The spacecraft passes through a laser channel and converts it and distributes it.
The statement indicated that the energy will be transferred from the station to Earth with the least amount of energy loss, indicating that the capacity and effectiveness of solar panels in space is several times more than those used on Earth's surface today.
