With the launch of the “Vision-S” electric car in 2020, Sony was the first electric company to publicly present a car prototype.
The second model has now been presented at the CES technology fair.
Las Vegas - Sony is serious about entering the auto business: The Japanese electronics giant presented a second electric car prototype at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas.
In the spring, Sony founds a mobility subsidiary.
A commercial launch of the company's own car is being examined, said CEO Kenichiro Yoshida.
Sony presented the first prototype with the name "Vision-S" at the beginning of 2020 at the technology fair CES in Las Vegas.
At that time, the Japanese electronics company still explicitly left open whether the vehicle should ever go into series production.
The prototype at that time is now called "Vision-S01".
The new “Vision-S02” model is a slightly taller compact SUV.
